The helpful stuff · Cooperstown, New York
Questions?
We’ve got you.
Everything we know so far about the celebration. We’ll keep this page updated as plans are finalized.
First things first
Before you book
Cooperstown is especially busy during summer baseball season, so lodging is the one part of the weekend we recommend planning now.
When is the wedding weekend?
We’ll be celebrating in Cooperstown from Friday, August 20 through Sunday, August 22, 2027. The ceremony and reception will take place on Saturday, August 21.
Should I book lodging now?
Yes, please book as early as you can. Cooperstown fills quickly during summer baseball season, and rooms are not being held for our guests. You do not need to wait for the formal invitation to reserve your stay.
Explore lodging →Is there a hotel room block?
We do not have a traditional room block. Guests can receive 10% off the standard rate at Hampton Inn Cooperstown by selecting “Special Rates” and entering WED in the Promotions field. The discount does not reserve a room, so we recommend booking early.
When can I RSVP?
Official RSVPs will open in 2027. Formal invitations will include everything you need to respond. There is nothing you need to submit just yet.
The weekend
What to expect
The plans taking shape for our weekend in Cooperstown.
Where will the wedding take place?
The ceremony, dinner and dancing will all take place inside the greenhouse at Origins Café. Weather permitting, guests will also be able to enjoy the outdoor spaces, where we may have lawn games and other activities.
What events are planned?
We’ll begin with welcome drinks at Brewery Ommegang on Friday, followed by the ceremony and reception on Saturday. We are also planning to host a farewell brunch on Sunday, with details to come. All named guests, including children, are welcome at each event.
View the weekend overview →What should I wear?
For the wedding on Saturday, we’re calling the dress code elevated cocktail attire: festive, polished and a little dressed up. Suits with ties, dressy jumpsuits, and dresses ranging from cocktail to full length are all welcome. Tuxedos are welcome but not required.
Welcome drinks on Friday and farewell brunch on Sunday will both be casual. Wear whatever you’re comfortable in!
Will transportation be provided?
We are planning to provide transportation between select hotels and Origins Café. When RSVPs open, please include where you are staying so we can plan the routes. Pickup details will be shared closer to the wedding.
Can I bring my children or a guest?
Children are welcome. Your formal invitation will list everyone included in your party, including children and any additional guests. If you have a question after receiving yours, please reach out to us directly.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes. Please include any dietary restrictions, allergies or concerns in your RSVP so we can plan accordingly.
What else is there to do in Cooperstown?
Plenty! Spend time on Otsego Lake, visit the Baseball Hall of Fame or Fenimore Art Museum, explore Main Street, or stop by Fly Creek Cider Mill. We’ve collected a few of our favorite ideas for you.

Good to know
A few useful details that don’t quite fit on an invitation.
Are you registered anywhere?
We’re lucky to already have everything we can possibly fit into a one-bedroom apartment, so we won’t be registering for traditional gifts. If you’d like to give, we would be incredibly grateful for a contribution toward our first home and the yard Phil has been patiently waiting for.

Yes! We’ll continue adding details as the celebration gets closer. Once formal invitations are sent, this site will be the best place to find the latest schedule, transportation information and RSVP instructions.
I still have a question. Who should I ask?
Reach out to Matt or Johanna directly. We’re happy to help.
